Organic Bubululu Malibu

Clothing and fabric production can take a heavy toll on the environment, and the industry continues to grow. Some farms and mills use production chemicals and pesticides which pollute the water, fish, wildlife, ground and the air.  The monitored and sustainable farming practices used to grow organic fibers are non-polluting. In fact, soil quality can actually be improved by the organic production.  Eco and organic fabric biodegrades naturally over time.  Synthetic fibers eventually become waste and let off harmful toxins when they degrade.

At Bubululu Malibu, we use organic cotton, organic Tencel, eco-friendly bamboo, soy and modal fabrics for all of our clothing styles, and some of our swimwear pieces. We try to make choices in our business that will honor and protect our bodies and the environment. We have much of our work done close to home, and our partners in production in Bali employ only fair labor practice.  This chain of caring and respect for our Mother Earth will foster a positive impact on others.

Bubululu’s Organic Clothing Line began with our conception of creating comfortable and eco-conscious fashion with a beach vibe, using sustainable and organic fabrics and low impact, and natural dyes.  Jayne and Shannon launched the first “Green One Collection” of organic loungewear last year, and the pieces are selling in several stores, and are now available to online customers.

The Bubululu “Eco-kinis” and One Piece bathing suits are made from supersoft, breathable, antibacterial bamboo, and organic cotton, and soybean fabrics. The one-pieces are so luxurious, they can be worn as body suits or paired with shorts, jeans or skirts.

Organic and Eco-Friendly Fabric Stories

This fabric is has a soft luxurious feel and is wrinkle resistant,  absorbent, dries quickly, and drapes to flatter your natural curves.  We use Tencel fabric to make many of our most popular tops and dresses. Tencel is made from natural wood pulp cellulose, coming from forests that practice sustainability, and uses very little water for production.  It is an environmentally sustainable version of rayon that is fully biodegradable.

Modal Fabric

Modal is an eco-friendly type of viscose, a bio based cellulose fiber that is extracted from beech wood. The beech trees grow naturally and are a completely sustainable source.  The process of manufacturing Modal is also sustainable, as by products are recovered and used again.  Clothing made from modal has lustrous drape and silky comfort.  We often use this fabric blended with silk, organic cotton, or organic wool.  Some of our favorite tees, cover-ups and dresses are made from modal and blended modal.
